Description
The Bijli Mahadev temple in the Kullu Valley of Himachal Pradesh, India is located at an altitude of 2,460 meters (8,100 feet) above sea level.
The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is considered one of the oldest temples in India. It's named after lightning, or Bijli, and is said to be struck by lightning every year. The temple's Shiva Lingam is said to be mysteriously hit by lightning every 12 years, breaking it into pieces. The temple priest then uses a paste made of cereal, pulse flour, and unsalted butter to restore the lingam
Day 1 - Manali - Chansari Village (49 kms / 01 hrs) | Trek to Bijali Mahadev (03 kms / 01 hrs trek)
Today morning at 10 am Pick up from near mall road Manali and drive to Chansari Village in Kullu Valley. Enroute we can also visit Paragliding and Rafting point , Vaishno devi temple etc, After reaching the Chansari Village trek to Bijali Mahadev from here. Bijali Mahadev is approximately 03 kms from here and will take 01 hour to reach on top. Spend at top some golden moments and trek down to Chansari Village and drive back to Manali.
