Bijali Mahadev Trek
Description
The Bijli Mahadev temple in the Kullu Valley of Himachal Pradesh, India is located at an altitude of 2,460 meters (8,100 feet) above sea level.
The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is considered one of the oldest temples in India. It's named after lightning, or Bijli, and is said to be struck by lightning every year. The temple's Shiva Lingam is said to be mysteriously hit by lightning every 12 years, breaking it into pieces. The temple priest then uses a paste made of cereal, pulse flour, and unsalted butter to restore the lingam
